In my latest tour I visited the East Coast of The U.S., Toronto (Canada) and Mexico, therefor youre gonna hear a lot of Mexican artists on these sessions. The music scene there is so vibrant and I got to meet so many great people on my travels it seems only logical to feature them on this space.

This week session is by the homie Polymiller, we were introduced by our friend Ali Gua Gua and we kicked it immediately, not only for our similar musical taste but for our similar sense of humour. So, when I asked Poly to curate one of this sessions, he was at ready and delivered this bouncey piece.
This is how Polymiller describes his sound: “Polymiller is a tribute to two of the representative elements in the “sonidera” scene of the 80s on the streets of the Distrito Federal. Inspired in the dances and the fiestas from those years and mixed with Cumbia, Techno, Electro, High Energy, Industrial and many more”

ETORO SESSION 007 BY CAFE DE CALAVERAS (UTREG/HOLLAND)

ETOROS007 – Cafe De Calaveras (Utreg / Holland)
I came across Cafe de Calaveras as I was doing some soundcloud ‘diggin’, loved the way he takes some of the baddest tunes and give them his ‘treatment’ adding percussion, shakers, cowbells and whatever he knows is gonna get the crowd. Heavily cumbia-influenced but without getting stuck in any genre. He’s just released an EP full of cumbiafied reggae bangers, but in his sets we hear tunes from all over the globe: Balkans, Latin-America, everything tropical, organic and bass-driven.

The sunshine is slowly coming into Europe and this session is a great starter to our summer vibes!

Natalia has been creating escapes via music and her video/light installations, which are always haunting and appealing. You never know whats on the other side but there’s no doubt you’ll want to find out. Pretty much loyal to her personality Natalia oozes sex appeal, which you can experience in her djing and I think it comes across on this session that she’s put together for Etoro. The main purpose of this series being to show you the people who rule my world, I’m glad to present one of my best friends as well as her incredible taste in music.

ETORO SESSIONS 005 – VENENO (BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA)

ETOROS005 – Veneno (Bs As, Argentina)
Veneno is an avid musician (hes in the conservatory in Buenos Aires), I first got to hear his stuff when his brother Arcade (a vital Etoro collaborator) recommended him, and as I got to listen to what he does I thought he should be releasing something on Etoro. Hes graced the label’s catalogue in three occasions: first being part of the debut xmas compilation with an excellent track he and Arcade called “The Full Experience”, then there was his “Plata Plata” EP which got him recognition from many people including Drop The Lime who absolutely loved the track! then Veneno came back to contribute with a remix for my song “Alegria” a track that you can hear on this session. You should check those track, I assure you: you won’t be disappointed.

For this session, Veneno is letting us look into what he’s made of. His influences, the heavy basslines and the songs with big character, his retro futuristic world.

I believe Veneno has the potential to take you on a musical journey, now here is the audio to prove it.

ETOROS004 – DJ Riobamba (Pajaritos) (Boston/USA)
I met Sara when we both played Day Off in Mexico City back in January 2013. She was there as part of Los Pajaritos, the duo shes form with DJ Malagon and that apart from playing a great selection of music has managed to create one of the coolest parties in Boston: Pico Picante, we made friends and I told her I was gonna go to the states after Mexico, so, she invited me to play Pico which was a great experience, I was sharing bill with Los Rakas and the venue (Good Life) has such a great sound system, Pico has already a great following, so, the party was amazing!

I know Boston has been on everyones minds because of the unfortunate events that happened last week, the great mixture of rhythms from different countries and cultures in this mix just remind us how important is to be united in one positive state of mind to be able to go through even the most illogical things that happen in this world every day.

As always music is the answer.

ETOROS003 – Dany F (Medellin, Colombia)
Dany started exploring electronic muy from a really young age (13), a few years later he started mixing Deep House with Colombian tropical genres like Cumbia and Champeta, with this style he’s managed to catch the attention from one of the most innovative and interesting record labels out there, Comeme (Matias Aguayo’s record label) in which Dany will be releasing his first 12″.

“I asked Dany if he would like to do a session for Etoro and he replied two hours later with this one here, just judge it for yourselves, personally I think this is a treat!

ETORO SESSIONS ARE BACK!

I first came across Sonido Berzek at a house party in Veracruz, Mexico on Xmas night. The party was finished by the time I got there, but there it was this man sitting on a chair djing the best selection of music (for no one cuz everybody went to bed, it was quite late to be fair!), I just sat near him and enjoyed his session. Since, I thought of asking him to do a mix for Etoro as I already had in mind to bring back the sessions that almost a year ago the incredible Hotrod had started and that by being so busy I could dedicate time to follow.
Times change and one year later I would like to curate this sessions again and this is a way to come back to it, with a live mix by someone that really captivate me on that night.
